JENNY

A few days ago I got the idea of painting a cat. I didn’t really know why, but beeing an animal lover and a cat owner, painting animals is something I do from time to time, and I didn’t give it more thought really. It was when my spouse saw the painting he asked if it was inspired by the book I had read recently, and I knew this was Jenny.

The novel was “Jenny” by the american writer Paul Gallico (1897-1976), first published in 1950. It’s a timless and very touching story about the friendship and love between to stray cats in London, and all the struggle and adventures they undergo. This is a book that will make you wipe some tears, and reflect upon the ups and downs in life we all most probably will experience and recognize.

  1. I love your cat portrait and I will look for the book you mention.

    • Thank you! I will most certainly recommend you to read the book. Its not only a touching story, but as a cat owner myself, it was obvious that this was written by someone with great love and understanding of cats as well.
      Happy reading!
